Kali Hewitt-Blackie, 5th Dan
Shidoin - Seasonal Chief Instructor
Kali Sensei, is a shidoin, affiliated with the United States Aikido Federation and holds the rank of godan (5th degree black belt), promoted by the technical committee of the USAF.
Her aikido is inspired primarily by Harvey Konigsberg Shihan and Yumi Nakamura Shihan. She has had the privilege of training with Tamura Shihan, Yamada Shihan, Kanai Shihan, Endo Shihan among others internationally. Kali has trained diligently for over 34 years and has taught at Aikido Tendokai and Naka Ima in Toronto. She founded Sandokai Community Aikido, where she is the chief instructor. As a lover of the art of aikido she believes in the transformative power of the practice to enrich our lives and make us more peaceful and loving.
Kali Sensei spends half of the year in Toronto and the other half in San Miguel, where she resides during the winter months and teaches at Aikido San Miguel.
Carlos Felix Chancellor, 3rd Dan
Fuku Shidoin - Dojo Cho (Director of the Dojo)
Felix Sensei was born in Mexico City and grew up in the United States and Canada. He is a Jungian-Archetypal Psychotherapist, Somatic Movement Educator, Death Doula and a teacher of Mythology as well as the Vice President of the Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Foundation México Centro.
He began practicing martial arts in 1990 and Aikido in 1998 in the central dojo of the Federación Mexicana de Aikido in Mexico City directly under Shihan Miguel Moreno Segura, 7th Dan. He has taught Aikido since 2007. Throughout his years and travels, he has had the opportunity to attend many seminars with many notable sensei. He has also been the direct student of:

He received the title of Sensei in 2008. In January of 2022 he was awarded the title of Fuku Shidoin by Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan.
Alfonso Alarcon, 2nd Dan, RIP
Founder of Aikido San Miguel
Aikido San Miguel was founded by Alfonso Alarcon in 2006, of which he was the chief
instructor with 20 years of experience in Aikido.
A member of the American Bonsai Association.
Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.
2nd Degree Black Belt in Aikido.
Alfonso passed away due to Cancer at the age of 60.
He was a well respected member of the community in San Miguel and in Aikido around the world.
He is missed greatly.
Chris Hatlestad, 2nd Dan
Chris began study of Aikido in 1984 in Central Illinois under Akira Tohei, Shihan. Over the years he has practiced under a number of instructors and several lineages of Aikido in the Midwest and West Coast of the United States. As a result, he has successfully past his Sho-Dan ranking on three different occasions. He moved to San Miguel de Allende in 2017 and began practice with Aikido San Miguel in 2018.
He was awarded his Nidan (2nd degree black belt) by Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan in 2021.
Alberto Múgica, 2nd Dan
Alberto began his practice at Aikido México Kihon Dojo in 2011 under the direct tutelage of sensei Yesid Sierra (6th dan, technical director of Aikido México Kihon Dojo) and sensei Paskal Jalet (4th dan). During these 10 years he has had the opportunity to enrich his training in the martial arts by practicing with different schools and styles of aikido. In 2019 he received his first dan during the seminar of shihan Yoshimitsu Yamada (8th dan in aikido. Director of the New York Aikikai aikido school, president of the United States Aikido Federation) in Mexico City.
He is passionate about music, visual arts and the spiritual practice of martial arts.
